Lion’s Gate Isn’t What You Think—It’s Bigger
Aug 07, 2025
Your Sacred Invitation to Burn What Isn’t True and Rise in Leadership from Within
What if Lion’s Gate wasn’t about astrology—
but about the sacred rite of transmutation every seeker must walk?
Each year around August 8th, we hear about the Lion’s Gate Portal.
We’re told this is a time of high-frequency energy and potent manifestation.
“Sirius is rising.”
“The Sun is in Leo.”
“This is your time to call in your highest abundance.”
But if you slow down,
if you actually look up at the sky—or ask a Vedic astrologer like myself—you’ll discover something different:
-
The Sun is in Cancer, not Leo.
-
The Moon is in Capricorn, not Leo.
-
And Sirius? Not even directly involved in the current configuration.
So what is this energy that so many of us feel pulsing through our bodies and lives at this time?
Because I feel it.
And maybe you do too.
Vertigo. Unexplainable waves of emotion.
Pressure in the third eye. Surges of insight.
Dreams that shake something loose.
Moments of collapse followed by sudden lucidity.
A deep sense that something is trying to change.
This isn’t illusion.
This is initiation.
This Isn’t a Cosmic Celebration—It’s a Portal of Reckoning
To understand the Lion’s Gate, we have to stop treating it like a manifestation party…
and begin honoring it as a threshold of sacred accountability.
Because without the courage to face the shadow,
we cannot walk in the light.
They are two ends of the same current. One calls the other forward.
And this gate, this moment—
isn’t here to hand us more.
It’s here to ask us what we’re truly ready to release.
Let’s begin with the name itself.
The Hidden Symbolism Behind “Lion’s Gate”
There are two powerful Lion’s Gates in ancient history:
1. The Lion Gate of Mycenae (Greece)
An ancient stone archway carved with lionesses, marking the entrance to the inner kingdom.
It symbolized divine protection and royal power.
To walk through it was to enter sacred territory—
not with entitlement, but with reverence.
Its purpose? To protect the kingdom.
And so we ask:
Are we protecting the kingdom within?
Are we honoring our own boundaries, energy, and heart with the same sacred vigilance?
2. The Lions’ Gate of Jerusalem (Israel)
This is the gate Jesus passed through on the Via Dolorosa,
carrying the weight of the cross—the burden of humanity’s suffering—on the way to his crucifixion.
This wasn’t a celebration.
It was a walk of radical surrender, spiritual courage, and infinite love.
The invitation of this gate isn’t to ask for more.
It’s to bring what is unloved, unseen, and heavy—
and walk it into the fire of divine transformation.
What if 8/8 isn’t about calling things in…
but about letting what isn’t true fall away?
Jesus, the Crucifixion, and the Gate of Devotion
The journey of Jesus through the Lions’ Gate, which is the epitome of the Savior's Journey, is not symbolic only.
It is a blueprint.
His path was not one of suffering for suffering’s sake—
but one of devotion so pure, so beautifully aligned with God,
that it moved Him to walk the most difficult path without hesitation.
He carried what was heavy for the sake of transmutation.
He became the vessel for divine love by surrendering everything that was separate from it.
This is the deeper invitation of Lion’s Gate:
To allow the false self to die.
To align our actions with the soul’s knowing.
To pick up what we’ve tried to avoid—
and walk it forward with grace, integrity, and devotional love.
Lion’s Gate is not about egoic ascension.
It is about becoming a vessel that can be trusted with light.
What Energy in the Sky Is Actually Transmitting (Vedic Perspective)
The astrological story unfolding now is rich and real—and incredibly relevant.
-
Sun in Ashlesha (Cancer):
The serpent’s coil.
Shadowy. Hypnotic. Karmic.
It reveals where we are caught in manipulation, illusion, or inner distortion.
It’s a call to purify the mind, anchor the heart, and reclaim our energetic sovereignty. Expect to see this everywhere around you at a heightened degree. -
Moon in Shravana (Capricorn):
The nakshatra of sacred listening.
Quiet. Steady. Devotional.
It whispers:“What are you truly listening to?”
“What are you truly devoted to?” -
Early in the day, the Moon aligns with Facies, a fixed star associated with leadership born through fire—
initiations, upheaval, destruction, and the truth that shakes us. It is a very rough energy to walk through, as is taking up your burden or cross and walking to your apparent death, knowing that the death is an illusion and you will be reborn to your true self if you keep on walking. -
By evening, it moves into Vega, a star of brilliance, politics, artistry, and divine favor—
but only after you have walked through the fire with clarity.
This Is a Portal of Leadership Initiation
(But not the kind the world usually celebrates.)
Not leadership for recognition.
Not leadership for control.
Leadership through embodiment.
Through truth.
Through alignment.
Through humility.
Through heart.
The Lion’s Gate sacred journey doesn’t crown you with jewels. It is the crown of thorns.
It refines you—
Until you become the kind of soul who leads just by being fully yourself.
A Devotional Practice for the Lion’s Gate Portal
This is not a light ritual.
But it is holy.
If you’re ready to meet the deeper version of yourself:
1. Acknowledge the Gate
Sit in stillness. Light a candle.
Let your breath be an offering.
Speak aloud:
“I am willing to enter the Lion’s Gate now.”
Visualize the threshold before you.
Ask:
“What part of me is ready to die?”
Wait.
Listen.
Let it rise.Breathe. Accept.
2. Reveal the Shadow
Journal. No edits. No spiritual bypassing.
Where have you abandoned yourself?
Where are you still hiding behind old identities, habits, or roles?
3. Call in the Fire
Speak aloud:
“I no longer ask for escape.
I ask for clarity.
I ask for the strength to carry and transmute what I’ve inherited.
Burn what is false.
Bless what is real.
Make me a vessel that can hold more light with sacred discernment.”Perhaps you will want to safely burn this in a flame and watch it transmute in the power of the fire.
4. Walk Forward Consciously
Choose one small action that aligns with the post-crucifixion you—
the version of you that has been loved back into wholeness.
Let that version lead—today, and over the next 6 days while the portal remains open.
Final Words
Lion’s Gate isn’t a celebration.
It’s a ceremonial path we are invited to partake in.
One where the lioness of Mycenae asks:
“Are you ready to protect what is sacred within you?”
And the lion of Jerusalem asks:
“Are you willing to release your limited self…
for the infinite self you were born to embody?”
If you’re shaking, weeping, rising, unraveling—
You are not broken.
You are being remade.
Walk forward with courage.
This gate was built for you.
With sacred fire and unwavering love,
Shanti
